The Ball Striking preseason program provides players the opportunity to develop shooting skills through the use of soccer activities and drills focused on ball striking. Ball Striking focuses on finishing technical skills using activities where players with the ball face opposition when finishing in order simulate game conditions.
Ball Striking activities provide the following benefits for participants:
Different ways to strike the ball
Striking for power or for accuracy
Striking to keep on the ground or in the air
Bending and curling the ball
Striking using different parts of the foot
The Ball Striking program follows the Club's Player Development Plan and features age-appropriate training delivered by Byron Optimist Soccer Club’s Staff Coaches.
